IONA BONNEVILLE SEWER DISTRICT
CONNECTION FEE INCREASE

Effective February 19, 2025, the Iona Bonneville Sewer District Board of Directors increased the Connection fee base rate to $2,500.00 per equivalent residential unit (ERU). This represents an increase of $650.00 per ERU. Please call the office directly with any concerns or questions regarding this increase.

Think Before You Flush!
Help us preserve the life of our sewer system by being considerate of what you flush.
When inappropriate items are flushed down the toilet or poured down the drain it damages your community wastewater system. Every week our sewer crews spend valuable man hours pulling pumps and cleaning sewer lines clogged by the above items. It costs your utility money to fix these issues. Please help us to reduce the costs of these repairs by NOT flushing these items.

-Wipes, even if they say flushable!
-Towels, rags, sponges, or clothing
-Grease, oil, or foods
-Floss, plastics, or condoms
-Feminine products, including applicators
-Cotton swabs or cotton balls
-Kitty litter or pet waste
-Pharmaceuticals
-Excess cleaning products
-Diapers

RATE INCREASE

After careful consideration, the IBSD Board of Directors has reasoned it necessary to adjust the rates to keep pace with increasing operating costs. Effective January 1, 2024, there will be a $1.00 increase per equivalent residential unit (ERU), to a total of $32.00 per month.

NOTICE OF HEARING TO CONSIDER THE FILING
OF A PETITION FOR JUDICIAL CONFIRMATION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Wednesday, the 19th day of April, 2023, at 6:00 o’clock P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the District Office, 3395 E. Leihm Ln, Idaho Falls, Idaho, the Board of Directors of the District will conduct a public hearing to consider the filing of a petition for judicial confirmation under the Idaho Judicial Confirmation Law, Title 7, Chapter 13, Idaho Code. The proposed project is to make immediate and necessary improvements to the existing wastewater system.

The proposed petition would seek judicial confirmation of the power of the District (1) to incur an indebtedness as an “ordinary and necessary expense” of the District authorized by the general laws of the State, within the meaning of Article 8, Section 3, of the Idaho Constitution, in a principal amount of approximately $60,000,000, for wastewater system improvements and to pledge the District’s wastewater system revenues for the payment of such indebtedness for a term of years.

Interested persons are encouraged to attend the public hearing and to present comments. Comments may also be submitted to the District in writing prior to and at the hearing.

Due to increased prices the Iona Bonneville Sewer District Board of Directors will implement a price increase starting January 1, 2023. This increase will be $1.00 per equivalent residential unit (ERU) for a monthly sewer fee of $31.00 per ERU total. This action is driven by continuing cost increases for treatment.

IBSD is in the process of replacing the sidewalk at our office. The lobby is closed during construction. We are here to answer calls. It is expected that normal business hours will be in effect next week, September 26th.
