Ticks don't clock out when summer ends. Ohio State University Extension notes that adult blacklegged (deer) ticks become active again in October and November, and they can be out any time temperatures are above freezing.

Quick after-yard check for your dog: ears, under the collar, armpits, between the toes, and around the base of the tail. Go slowly with your fingers; you're feeling for a small bump.

If you usually stop tick prevention in the fall, it's worth asking your vet about. (We'll keep handling the other yard hazard.)

Every business has an origin story. Ours is mostly Wesley.

Wesley is a very good dog with a very consistent schedule, and somebody in our house was out in the yard with a bag every week keeping up with it. That somebody was me. At some point it clicked: this is a chore every dog family in Johnstown, Alexandria, and Granville is dealing with, so it's a chore worth doing really well for them.
