When kids are off school for the summer, that can mean more time around the house and more chances for spills. How should you handle those spills?
For things like tomato sauce, pizza, nacho cheese, etc., we recommend:
-Remove excess from carpet with paper towels an old rag or something similar
-Mix one tablespoon dish soap & two cups cold water, blot area with a sponge and solution and blot dry
-A small wet vac (Bissell green machine, Bissell Crosswave, etc.) would also be helpful
-Still seeing a stain? Mix equal parts baking soda and water to form a paste. Work it into the stain, let sit 15-20 minutes, and repeat the removal process.
If you have newer carpet that may still be under warranty, always consult the care instructions first. Do not use bleaches, peroxide, or any chemical that can "set" the stain. Keep solutions “neutral.” Call a professional for addition help if needed.
