🎉🧼 I hope all of you owners and fellow cleaners are having a great season so far!
📝 A quick reminder for vacation rental owners:
Don't cut corners on amenities and inventory. Most guests use a reasonable amount. Only about 1 out of 10 guests overuses supplies or leaves a bigger mess—but that's the exception, not the rule. If necessary, charge the appropriate fees and move on.
🔑 The biggest key? Set clear expectations before your guests arrive.
As a cleaner, I'm all for people enjoying their vacation. Come celebrate, relax, and make memories, but please respect the property. Put things back where you found them, clean up after yourselves when possible, and leave the home in reasonable condition. If not, that's okay too, but expect to pay the extra cleaning fee. It's that simple. 🤷🏼♂️
❌ Don't be the penny-pinching owner.❌ 💰
Please don't head into busy season understocked. Sam’s Club & Amazon are here for a reason, so use it! I once told an owner they were running low on trash bags, and their response was, "How many do we need?" Don't be that owner.
If your cleaner tells you you're running low on towels, linens, toiletries, paper products, or other essentials, trust them. Buy in bulk and stay ahead of it. And if your one of those owners who every turn asks your cleaner to do extra stuff, you should be paying them without them asking for it. It’s annoying that you don’t value our time. 🤷🏼♂️🤦♂️
A well-stocked property means smoother turnovers, less stress for everyone, happier guests, and better reviews.
Cleaners are your eyes on the property. Listen to them—they're helping protect your investment.
