Repair or Replace Your Windshield?
A small crack or chip in the windshield can easily become a major problem. They can spread when you run over a bump or turn your heater on in the winter. Small cracks and chips can be easy to miss, but once you’ve spotted one, it's important to take your vehicle to a specialist.
The good news is that if the chip is less than 6 inches, you should be able to get the windshield repaired rather than replaced. If you have more than three small chips or cracks in the windshield you should consider replacing it.
For Ohioans, regulations state that cracks, chips, and defects directly in front of the driver violate the law, mainly because they interfere with visibility. Large cracks that can pose a hazard are prohibited no matter where they’re located on the windshield.
