Taking advantage of a facility shutdown for this Recreation Center and doing a much needed sand change. Upgrading to new glass media will ensure years of quality filtration.

A mild winter means that this builder was able to complete this new pool early and we were able to install this custom GLI Pool Products custom safety cover today.

Taking advantage of some great weather to replace a broken DE filter with a new filter with glass media. Also replaced the broken suction manifold valves with serviceable valves to ensure easy operation.

It’s really not hard to read and follow directions. Another improperly installed heater on a commercial pool. This one done by one of the larger companies in our area(the second heater they’ve installed here after only three years). Not only are they damaging the heater, voiding the warranty, but they’re endangering the lives of every guest of this hotel by using the wrong venting for a horizontal termination.

Another “quality” installation by a local “builder”. If it wasn’t so dangerous it would be comical. Not only did the “builder” fail, so did the GC and the licensed HVAC company who told me, “there’s nothing in the manual about venting the heater outside”.
It never ceases to amaze me how on a million dollar project, such clueless hacks get the work.
Learn how to do it, or get out of the business.

Before and after plumbing and venting job after a “builder” left it like this. The equipment was put on a wooden platform so he could collect his draw before the floor was poured. He also left the heater venting into this enclosed space with a living area above.
Some builders should get out of the business, others should be in jail.

This is everything that’s wrong with our industry and certain “pool builders” and those that think it’s easy. This is how you kill people. Not only is it common sense that you don’t put a carbon monoxide producing heater just venting into a closed space underneath a deck, but it clearly explains in every heater manual what to do in an instance like this. Contractors, I won’t call them builders, they aren’t deserving of that name, who do projects like this are either too dumb to read, too ignorant to understand, or too unethical to care.
