***Why hire someone to pressure wash when I can just rent or buy my own pressure washer and do it myself?****

I hear this question a lot. Here are a few reasons:

1) Expertise- pressure washing isn’t as simple as just getting a machine. A true pro knows what pressure and combination of chemicals to use for each type of surface to effectively (not just) clean but avoid damage to the surface.

2) convenience- a novice person cleaning a deck, driveway or house wash takes 5-8 times longer than a qualified professional. Why spend a full day doing the job when you can have a pro do it? You’ll get better results and have more free time.

3) safety- stay off the ladder for those hard to reach gutters or surfaces. If you don’t on a ladder you can’t fall off a ladder. Pros have the proper equipment to complete the job as safely as possible.

That there is a difference between “power” and “pressure” washing? Most people think they’re the same thing, but they are certainly not.

“Pressure” washing is just as it sounds like; using high water pressure to clean a surface. You see this more in residential applications and some commercial applications.

“Power” washing is using high pressure combined with hot water to assist in releasing grime from hard to clean surfaces. You see this more in commercial/industrial applications.

Both may use a small amount of chemicals to help clean but the emphasis is on water pressure rather than chemicals. However, the higher the pressure, the more potential for damage to surfaces. Especially vinyl siding, brick, old concrete, stucco, wood etc.

At GrimeBusters, we utilize just the right amount of chemicals (called “soft-washing) for pre-treating surfaces to release all the dirt, grime, mold, algae etc before using low pressure to rinse/clean. This ensures efficiency while deep cleaning while greatly reducing damage caused by high water pressure.
