Brighter colors are not only easier to spot outside of the water but inside of the water too, especially in the case of a submersion.

A Grown-Up Should Watch You!

Teach your kids this water safety rule so they know that that a grown-up should always be watching them in the water. No grown-up? No swimming!

Close, constant supervision is an important layer of protection against childhood drowning. Commit to be a Water Watcher when you are supervising children in, near, or around water.

Pledge to be a Water Watcher:
💧 I WILL constantly watch children around water
💧 I WILL not become distracted
💧 WILL learn CPR and the signs of drowning
💧 WILL be ON DUTY until relieved by another adult

The Association of Aquatic Professionals (AOAP) are taking applications for the swim lesson and/or lifejacket grant program to help aid aquatic facilities in their drowning prevention efforts. The AOAP drowning prevention grant offers funding opportunities for organizations to provide education and awareness of life jacket safety.
