You finish work, finally sit down for a minute, and remember the kitchen still needs cleaning.

Work is over. The dishes, counters, and dinner mess didn't get the memo.

For busy households, the workday doesn't always end when you clock out.

There comes a point every fall where opening the windows for fresh air lasts about seven minutes before someone says, "Okay, that's enough."

The weekend is over, and the laundry is still waiting.

There were groceries to get, things to do, people to see. Laundry didn't make the cut.

There's always next weekend. Or Tuesday. Or whenever the basket starts getting a little too full.

The trick-or-treaters are gone.

The decorations are still here.

Happy Halloween! Whether you're handing out candy, taking little ones trick-or-treating, or staying in with a scary movie, I hope today is full of good memories and just the right amount of chocolate.

10/30/2026

Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween weekend! There's something special about seeing the neighborhood decorated, the kids in their costumes, and everyone getting into the spirit of the season.

You finally get the house looking the way you want it, and now you're hoping nobody needs a snack, a blanket, or anything from the room you just cleaned.

It's a nice five minutes, though.

I admire people who carve those incredibly detailed pumpkins. Mine usually ends up looking surprised.

Every house has a closet like this.

The one you open carefully because you're not entirely sure what's going to fall out.

Maybe this is the year it gets sorted. Maybe not.

Happy Halloween to everyone brave enough to open that door.
