Important Service Update from Kirksey Sanitation

We would like to inform our valued customers that Kirksey Sanitation will be operating on a normal schedule during the week of February 3, 2026, to February 6, 2026, for the most part.

As we were riding to observe conditions on Sunday, February 1, and today, Monday, February 2, we found that while most roads are clear, several remain hazardous due to ice. The following roads may affect our service to name a few:

Old Hunts Bridge Road
Chinquapin Road
Wild Flower Road
Flat Woods Road
Goodwin Road
North Old Buncombe Road

Additionally, we were unable to access Goodman Road from Goodman Bridge Road and Highway 25 due to severe ice conditions.

Please know that if we can safely reach your area, we will provide service as scheduled. If your road or street is deemed unsafe for our drivers, your trash service will resume once conditions allow.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during these weather-related challenges. Your safety and that of our drivers are our top priorities.

Hello,

Our trucks are running today and being very cautious as there are still roads that are not treated. This makes it hard for our trucks to attempt. With that said we will not collect on streets that are unsafe or icy.

We will also follow the same guidelines the rest of the week.

We truly appreciate you, your patience and understanding during this time. Next week we should be on normal schedule and will be glad to take any extra trash you may have at that time.

Subject: Inclement weather/This weeks schedule

Hello everyone,

As you all know tomorrow starts the 1st day of our trash routes and with the recent snow storm it will definitely impact some of our pickups that include rural areas and the secondary roads.

Tomorrow we will be on a 2 hour delay and each day following that we will play by ear. If the roads permit us to get your trash we will do so, but if road conditions are still bad to us, then your trash day will be picked up next week as normally scheduled. We don’t want to put our drivers or trucks at risk for fatalities or injuries that could be prevented by using better judgment of road conditions such as black ice.
