Have you ever been to Ringing Rocks ? If you go, bring a hammer!!
Happy Thursday.

🪨 If you hit these rocks with a hammer, they ring like bells. Scientists still don't fully agree on why.

Ringing Rocks County Park in Bucks County contains one of the most genuinely puzzling natural phenomena in Pennsylvania — a seven-acre field of diabase boulders where certain rocks, when struck with a hammer, produce a clear, resonant, bell-like metallic tone completely unlike what you'd expect from stone. A local band reportedly performed a concert here in the 1800s using only the rocks as instruments. Geologists have studied the site for decades, and while several theories exist about the acoustic properties of diabase under specific stress conditions, there is still no universally agreed upon explanation for why only some of the rocks ring and others don't.

Some go out of their way to help animals.

Some go out of their way to help animals.

A cyclist stopped to help a stray dog on the side of the road and unknowingly set in motion a series of events that would change the dog's life forever.

Jarret Little was riding through the woods near Columbus, Georgia, with friends when a badly injured dog suddenly emerged from the trees.

The dog appeared to have been hit by a car. He was painfully thin, with his ribs showing, covered in road rash, and suffering from a broken leg.

The cyclists gave him food and water, but Jarret knew the dog needed much more help. So he carefully lifted the injured pup onto his back and rode into town searching for someone who could save him.

But even Jarret couldn't have predicted what happened next.

When they arrived downtown, they crossed paths with Andrea Shaw, who was visiting Columbus from Maine on a business trip. The moment she saw the injured dog, she knew she had to help.

She immediately offered to take him in and named him Columbo.

And somehow, Columbo seemed to know she was the person he had been waiting for and immediately gave her a hug.

She called her husband and said, 'I'm saving this dog—he's bleeding and broken and I'm not leaving him.'"

Her husband’s only question? "Is your hotel pet friendly?"

Andrea rushed Columbo to an emergency veterinarian, where doctors discovered he had a fractured back leg and a broken front toe. She paid for his surgery and arranged for him to travel nearly 2,000 miles back to Maine through Canine Freedom Transportation.

After surgery, Columbo traveled with pins stabilizing his fractures, 25 staples in his leg, and a cast on his front leg—but he was finally on his way to the life he deserved.

Today, Columbo is thriving at Andrea's horse farm, where he is making friends with his new animal family, including Luquillo, a 13-year-old German Warmblood.

Looking back, Jarret still can't believe how perfectly everything came together.

"Had I been five minutes earlier or five minutes later, we wouldn't have crossed paths with her," he said. "It's pretty cool how far he's come."

A dog who was once injured and alone in the woods now has a loving home—all because a group of cyclists stopped, a stranger cared, and a series of unlikely moments brought them together. ❤️🐾

Happy last Saturday in July.

Police didn't hesitate to smash a car window when they believed a dog inside was in danger during a heatwave. 💔🐶

The incident happened in north London, England, after concerned members of the public spotted a dog showing signs of distress inside a parked Volvo in a Tesco Extra parking lot near Brent Cross.

Officers searched for the owner, but when no one could be found and the dog continued to struggle in the rising heat, they broke a window to safely remove the animal.

The dog was later reunited with its owner, who was given advice by police. No further action was taken.

The rescue serves as an important reminder that even on a day that doesn't feel extremely hot, the inside of a parked car can quickly become dangerously warm. According to the RSPCA, temperatures inside a vehicle can rise dramatically in a short amount of time, putting dogs at risk of heat-related illness.

Thankfully, this dog was rescued in time. Sometimes, just a few extra minutes can make all the difference. ❤️
