Otter habitat in the Boundary Waters recently lost crucial protections from mining. Congress’ vote to allow sulfide-ore mining to contaminate the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness—and 225,000 acres of habitat for moose, bears, otters, walleye, pike, and countless bird and aquatic species—set a dangerous precedent. 🛶

Just a reminder of what some people are fighting for.
Be ONE of them.

This photo is exactly what a lot of people in rural Pennsylvania are worried about losing.

No traffic.
No noise.
No endless rows of warehouses.

Just quiet roads, open farmland, and mountains in the distance.

For some, this isn’t “empty land.”

It’s where they grew up.
It’s Sunday drives.
It’s family farms passed down for generations.
It’s peace you can’t recreate once it’s gone.

That’s why places like Mifflinville are speaking up.

Because once views like this change…
they don’t come back.

No matter where you stand on development, this is what many Pennsylvanians feel they’re trying to hold onto.

Hello. I’m the Raccoon. Sorry for the clatter of the trash can at 4:00 AM.

I know you think I’m just a nuisance. But did you know I have a memory that lasts for three years? I can learn to open locks, jars, and latches. I’m basically a small, furry engineer.
I eat the ground-nesting yellowjackets you’re afraid of.
I’m also a master at finding the grubs and beetle larvae that destroy your lawn. I’m a high-intelligence foraging specialist.

What to do:
Use bungee cords on your trash cans. If I’m too smart for that, just realize you’re living next to a genius.

I’m sorry for the "theft."
But your yard has fewer wasps because of me.
