It's February. You walk outside at dusk and get hit with that unmistakable smell. Every. Single. Night.

Skunk mating season peaks in February. That smell isn't aggression—it's rejection. Female skunks spray males who approach before she's ready. She may reject 4-5 males per night.

Removing these raccoons from the roof proved to be an interesting experience. The litter mates were left behind after the rental company removed the female over the summer. It is worth noting that raccoons generally do not coexist unless they are from the same litter. These animals have grown to 40 lb and are very active. Three have been removed, with two still remaining.

Occasionally, a bit of detective work is required to determine the root cause of an issue. The entry point for this house was located on the opposite side, but the raccoon in this instance was climbing up and down the downspout to access the roof. Some individuals may attempt to cut trees back 25 feet from their house, yet still fail to resolve the issue, as the animals are not relying on trees to climb onto the roof.
