A Day in the Life of a Cleaning Business Owner 🧽🏠
Often I ’ve heard people say that professional cleaners charge too much or that cleaning is not “skilled” work.
As someone who works in this profession, I disagree.
The Bible teaches us in Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for men.”
God honors honest work.
Professional cleaning is far more than wiping counters or straightening rooms. It requires wisdom, discipline, endurance, integrity, attention to detail, time management, and knowledge of how to properly care for different materials and environments.
Proverbs 22:29 says: “Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings.”
Skill is developed through experience, consistency, and dedication — and many professional cleaners carry years of knowledge in their craft.
Many cleaners are also small business owners who:
Manage schedules
Handle bookkeeping and taxes
Purchase supplies and equipment
Maintain inventory
Market their business
Serve clients faithfully
Work long physical hours caring for the homes of others
That is honorable work.
Jesus Himself came to serve: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…” — Mark 10:45
Serving others with excellence reflects the heart of Christ.
And when it comes to the cost of professional cleaning services, it’s important to remember that inviting someone into your home for reliable, quality care is a luxury and a responsibility.
Professional cleaners are not only offering labor — they are offering their time, knowledge, energy, trustworthiness, and consistency.
1 Timothy 5:18 reminds us: “The worker deserves his wages.”
Every hardworking person deserves dignity, fairness, and respect.
At the end of the day, a clean home brings peace, comfort, order, and relief to many families — and there is value in that.
May we never look down on honest work that is done with integrity and unto the Lord. 🧡
