Questions & Answers
Q. Do I have to pay the Flat Rate Fees for my type of cleaning needed?
A. Absolutely not, for most cleaning jobs it is cheaper to pay the hourly rate and fees. The flat rates were created for clients and customers that want to know now exactly what they are going to pay based on their house size, hours estimated and materials needed. In some cases, the business loses entirely with the flat rates when houses need more hours than estimated because one might not have known how much work was needed when unable to visually inspect first or when some choose to be less forthcoming with the work needed.
Q. Do I have to choose a “Type” of Cleaning or can I just give you a list of what I need done?
A. You do not have to choose a type, we can make it what you need at any time.
Q. Can I add things I need on to the clean once you get here?
A. Absolutely, we are happy to take any request as long as you understand it will add time to the hours needed but most small requests can be done in the same amount of time.
Q. Why does your hourly rate seem so high?
A. There is quite a bit that goes in to the hourly rate that some do not consider. I do not actually make $40 an hour, although that would be nice. As a small business owner, there are many fees and the cost of inflation on things such as supplies, gas, taxes keep increasing. I pay for my business license, city endorsements, insurance, bond, state taxes, federal taxes, use tax, unemployment taxes for staff, supplies, travel to clients and houses, fees to accept payments and all of that gets considered when calculating the hourly rate.
Q. How do you estimate the time you will need to for most cleaning projects?
A. I estimate it different based on what needs done, the square footage or how many bedrooms, the number of supplies and how much, the time it will take depends on many factors and the estimates are not always perfect but we get them as close as possible. I can also provide a couple of examples.
Example 1. Customer needs a full move out of a 3-bedroom house that has been lived in for 8 years by a large family. This information tells me that behind everything has been piling up on dust and stuff may have been sitting for a while and that there will probably be build up in bathroom and kitchen and when the insides of all cupboards, windows, drawers and areas that wouldn’t normally be cleaned will be needed. Then it depends if they want 1 or 2 people. I think of the extra supplies that will be needed and then calculate the best guess based on previous move out cleanings as well. In this case for 2 people, I would estimate this project at 6-9 hours for 2 people and for 1 person 8-12 hours. This exact project took 14 hours for 2 people.
Information that we would have needed was not communicated that the house was not empty and that we would have to remove an extreme amount of trash and garbage before we could even begin cleaning. In this case the estimate was lower than what was needed.
Example 2. Customer does not want any bedrooms cleaned and just wants to focus on main areas of home. These projects take in general from 2-4 hours depending on the size of the areas and could take an hour or so more if insides of appliances are to be included.
