This 2003 Lexus SC430 was scheduled for a ceramic coating… but when it arrived, we quickly realized we had a much bigger job on our hands. 😳
During our phone consultation, we discussed the condition of the paint, but unfortunately the severity wasn’t fully communicated. Once the vehicle arrived, we found extremely heavy paint defects along with severe water spotting across both the paint AND glass that also needed to be addressed.
We knew immediately that the included single-stage correction wasn’t going to deliver the result the customer was expecting.
Full transparency….. we gave him three realistic options: stay with the original package and expect roughly 50–60% defect correction, upgrade to a two-step paint correction, or simply not move forward.
After a discussion, we agreed on the two-step correction. Was the customer excited about spending more money? No. Were we excited about unexpectedly doubling the correction time? Also no. 😂 But we knew what the car needed.
Thankfully, he trusted our recommendation and the transformation was incredible. A complete 180.
Our job is to set realistic expectations and recommend what’s actually necessary to achieve the result our customers are looking for.
Not every vehicle or job is the same, but the quality, care and customer service we put into each one is.
And judging by the customer’s reaction at pickup… we made the right call. 🙌
