3/13/26 GARBAGE/RECYCLE UPDATE as of 11:20 a.m.
Garbage pickup is on as planned today. Recycle pick up has been halted due to wind. If able, please help out neighbors who are gone to work for the day and pull their carts out of the street. A backup date is not planned for recycle pickup. A recycle container will be located at the City Shop at 1031 Stinocher Street for your overflow recycling items. This container is located in front of the city's north hoop storage and is for those with full recycle carts at home and need a place for this week's recycled items until next Friday's usual pickup. Please replace the netting after dropping recycling items into the container to ensure recycle items stay within the container. This container is for RECYCLE ONLY. Thank you for being a good neighbor and for your patience and understanding during this high wind weather.

**Bin Washing Technician / Route Driver**

**Location: Located in Tiffin service Cedar Rapids / Iowa City area
**Pay: $15.00 per hour + performance bonuses
**Schedule: 4–5 days per week (Monday–Friday, no weekends), typically 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM (some days may vary slightly)
**Season: Primarily March through November (winter months off!)

**About the Job**
We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to join our team at a growing bin washing company. We use a specialized route truck and perform on-site cleaning, sanitizing, drying, and jockeying (moving/positioning) of customers’ trash and recycling bins. This is a **physical, hands-on outdoor job** that keeps you active and gets you out of the office — many of our team members find it enjoyable, satisfying, and rewarding work!

**Key Responsibilities**
- Use (drive or co-pilot) a company-provided specialized bin washing truck along assigned daily routes
- Complete 20–50+ customer stops per day (residential and commercial)
- Operate bin washing equipment to thoroughly clean, sanitize, and dry trash & recycling bins
- Maneuver (jockey) bins back to their original positions
- Get in and out of the truck frequently, including bending and stooping
- Push loaded bin carts up and down steep hills and driveways (repeatedly throughout the day)
- Maintain accurate route logs and communicate with customers when needed
- Keep the truck and equipment clean and in good working order

**Requirements**
- Valid driver’s license and **clean driving record** (no major violations)
- Able to perform physical work — frequent bending, lifting, pushing carts, getting in/out of truck
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (spring through fall)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently on a route
- Positive attitude and pride in doing quality work
- Must be able to start **soon**
