Hold on to your pool noodles. Turtle Tim here from Primary Pool Services, wishing everybody a very happy Memorial Day weekend.

This is the first big pool weekend of summer, which means the floaties are out, the grill is warming up, the kids are already aiming for cannonballs, and backyards across Ventura County are about to become the main event.

The only problem is some pools are looking a little more uh-oh than let's go.

🐢 Cloudy water does not exactly scream holiday weekend.
🐢 Leaves in the deep end are not invited.
🐢 And nobody wants the first swim of summer to start with, "Wait... should the water look like that?"

That is where Dillon and the crew come in.

At Primary Pool Services, we help homeowners get their pools clean, clear, and ready for the weekend. We know Memorial Day is one of those moments where the backyard matters!

So if your pool needs a little rescue mission before the weekend really gets rolling, there is still time to call in the turtle team.

🐢 Clean water.
🐢 Clear communication.
🐢 A pool that feels ready when your guests show up.

If you need pool cleaning, pool service, or help getting your backyard swim-ready for Memorial Day weekend, call Primary Pool Services at 805-586-2055.

And if you're an existing customer, head to https://bit.ly/4uKqnwh to get our limited-time, customer-only offer!

Ten years ago, Dillon Brooks took a swing on a 42-pool route and built what became Primary Pool Services, one of the most recognizable pool service companies in Ventura County.

🐢 Not with a boring brand.

🐢 Not with a cookie-cutter truck.

🐢 And definitely not by trying to look like every other pool guy in town.

Today, Turtle Tim rolls with a seven-person team, wrapped trucks, matching uniforms, and about 175 sparkling pools every week. That is not just a pool cleaning story.

That is a business built the hard way through risk, route mistakes, better systems, sharper pricing, and learning that more pools do not always mean more profit.

The fun part is the turtle. The serious part is the standard.

Primary Pool Services built a brand people actually remember, then backed it up with consistent communication, professional service, and pools that stay ready when you are. Around Ventura County, that matters.

If you want a pool company that shows up polished, keeps things clear, and treats your pool like it belongs in the backyard version of a postcard, this is your crew.

🎤 Plot twist: the boss got outvoted.

A few weeks back, we asked our community to help us pick the new Primary Pools jingle. Country vs. Reggae. I'll be honest with you, I was rooting hard for the reggae one. Something about that beat just felt like a pool day in audio form 🌴

You all had other ideas.

Final score? COUNTRY WON. Two to one. A runaway. 🏆

Here's the thing though: that's exactly why we asked. For 20+ years, the way we've run Primary Pools has been by listening to the people we serve, not the other way around. My opinion is one vote among many. The folks whose pools we keep clean, balanced, and swim-ready every week are the ones whose ears actually matter.

So country it is. You'll be hearing it on our trucks, our hold music, and around the internet soon enough 🎶

🎁 As a thank-you for voting, we're giving away a FREE Pool Health Check. A full visual + chemistry assessment of your pool, completely on us. No charge, no obligation. Don't need one yourself? The offer is fully transferable. Pass it to a neighbor or a friend who does.

Hey, it’s Dillon here.

So we went to The Final Code and asked them to make us a jingle

They came back with five.

Next thing you know, we’re sitting there going back and forth, playing them over and over, arguing which one actually sounds the best!

We finally narrowed it down to two, and they couldn’t be more different.

👇 Here’s where we landed:

🌴 Reggae
🤠 Country

Both are catchy. Both feel right in their own way. But only one of them actually fits the brand, and we’re stuck going in circles trying to decide.

So instead of overthinking it, we figured we’d put it in your hands.

🎧 Take a minute and listen to both

Let’s be honest. Searching for “pool service near me” in Thousand Oaks or Camarillo and picking the first option is a gamble.

Too often, it leads to green water, missed appointments, and stress of wondering if your pool is actually safe for your family. You deserve better.

At Primary Pools, we believe that taking care of your pool in Ventura County should be a professional and stress-free experience. That’s why we live by our POOLS acronym.

👨‍🔬 P is for Professional.

A truly professional pool service goes far beyond just skimming leaves. It’s about understanding the science of water chemistry.

Our background team tests for pH, free chlorine, total alkalinity, and cyanuric acid on every visit. We provide a detailed service log showing you exactly what we did and why, so you’re never in the dark about the health of your Agoura Hills pool.

⏰ O is for On-Time.

Consistency is key to a healthy pool. When a pool service skips a visit, the chemical balance can start to drift in as little as 48 hours, especially in the warm Ventura County sun.

We run a tight, reliable route. You’ll have a set service day, and you can count on us to be there. An on-time appointment isn’t just a convenience; it’s what prevents bigger problems.

✨ O is for Over-Deliver.

We believe in providing a comprehensive service that covers every aspect of your pool’s health. We handle everything: complete water chemistry, surface skimming, wall brushing, and floor vacuuming.

We also empty both the skimmer and pump baskets and check all your equipment. We catch small issues before they become expensive emergencies for homeowners in Newbury Park.

📜 L is for Licensed.

In California, any contractor performing repairs on your pool equipment must be licensed. Hiring an unlicensed technician can leave you liable for damages or injuries.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 S is for Safety

We treat your backyard with the same care we’d treat our own. Pool chemicals are hazardous materials that require proper handling.

Stop gambling with your pool service. It’s time to partner with a company that serves Ventura with a promise.

Ready for a pool service you can trust? Call us today at 805-586-2055 to get a free estimate.

Alright Ventura County, let's talk about your pool real quick. 😅

Those storms did a number on everything, and pools are no exception. Rain dilutes your chlorine, messes with your pH, and knocks your alkalinity way off balance.

If your pool is looking cloudy, green, or just sketchy right now, that's exactly why.

Here's the thing though. Unbalanced pool water isn't just an eyesore. It's hard on your equipment, rough on your plaster, and not something you want your family swimming in.

The longer it sits, the worse it gets. We've seen pools go from a little cloudy to a full algae bloom in under a week after a storm. It happens faster than most people expect.

So what does rain actually do to your pool?

Here's the breakdown:

- Heavy rainfall dilutes your chlorine levels, sometimes to the point where your sanitizer is basically doing nothing
- Storm runoff carries dirt, fertilizers, and bacteria straight into your water, giving algae everything it needs to take off
pH swings hard after a storm, and when pH is off, even the chlorine you do have becomes far less effective
- Total alkalinity drops, which makes your pH nearly impossible to stabilize on its own
- Debris sitting on the bottom becomes a food source for algae if it's not cleaned out quickly

All of that is happening at the same time, which is why pools go south so fast after a big rain event.

The fix is a full chemical rebalance and cleanup. Alkalinity, pH, chlorine, stabilizer, all of it tested and corrected in the right order.

On top of that, a proper debris vacuum and filter clean to make sure your equipment can keep up once the chemistry is back in range.

That's what we do at Primary Pools. We've been taking care of Ventura County pools for years, and storm recovery is something we handle regularly.

We come out, test your water on the spot, and get your pool back to clean and swimmable fast.

If your backyard got hammered by these storms, give us a call sooner rather than later.

A small problem today turns into a bigger, more expensive one fast.

🌧️ After weeks of rain in Ventura County, it feels like everything’s flooded, muddy, and blown around, and your pool probably took the worst of it.

Wind dumps trash, leaves, and dirt into the water, and all that organic material is perfect fuel for algae.

One day it’s a little cloudy, and the next it’s full‑on swamp green that makes your backyard feel like summer’s been cancelled.

But you don’t need to drain your pool to fix it. Draining after heavy storms can be risky because saturated ground pushes against an empty pool shell. That pressure can:

- Crack plaster and surfaces
- Stress or shift the structure
- Damage underground plumbing
- In extreme cases, cause the pool to lift

Instead, you want to work smart with the water that’s already there. And that’s where Primary Pools comes in.

At Primary Pools, we hit green pools hard with pro‑level chemistry and a dialed‑in recovery plan:

- Full water testing (no guessing on chemicals)
- Heavy shock and targeted algae treatments
- pH and alkalinity balanced so chlorine actually works
- Walls and steps brushed to knock algae loose
- Skimmers, baskets, and filters cleaned for strong circulation

The goal is simple: flip your pool from swampy green back to clear blue as fast and safely as possible.

We work all across Ventura County — including:

- Thousand Oaks
- Newbury Park
- Camarillo
- Oxnard
- Ventura

Whether your pool is light green, dark green, or almost black from neglect and weather, we’ve seen it, fixed it, and brought it back.

You don’t have to waste money on random big‑box chemicals or fight with it for weeks. Let our team get the chemistry right and protect the investment sitting in your backyard.

If your pool looks like it belongs in a nature preserve instead of a family backyard, now’s the time to act.

Call 805‑586‑2055 and tell us you’ve got a green pool that needs a turnaround.
Check out our process here: https://bit.ly/4cF0vvi

We’ll get you on the schedule, treat it heavily, and let you know when it’s safe and ready to swim again.

Don’t write off your summer before it starts — with Primary Pools, that green mess can be blue again before the weekend.

Your pool has been sitting all winter. Here's what that actually means, and what to do about it.

Every winter in Thousand Oaks, the same thing happens.

The rains come in, the debris settles to the bottom, the water stops circulating, and by the time spring rolls around, the pool that looked fine in October is now a cloudy, uninviting mess.

Most homeowners do the same thing when they see it:
- grab a few bottles from the pool supply store
- dump them in
- and wait.

Sometimes it helps a little. Usually it doesn't. And that's because chemicals treat symptoms; they don't treat the root problem.
The root problem is winter buildup.

Organic material, fine debris, algae spores, and disrupted water chemistry have been settling and compounding since November. You can shock the water all day and still end up staring at the same milky haze a week later.

We fix pools the right way. That means actually diagnosing what's happening in your water, not just throwing product at it.

It means cleaning what needs to be cleaned, adjusting what needs to be adjusted, and making sure your pool comes out of winter actually ready, not just treated.

We work throughout Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Simi Valley, Camarillo, and the wider Ventura County area.

We know what these pools go through after a California winter because we've been dealing with it for years.

The type of rain, the local debris, the specific chemistry shifts that come with this climate, it's familiar territory for us.

Whether your pool is a little off or genuinely struggling, we'll tell you exactly what it needs and give you a clear path forward.

Just honest pool care from a team that knows what they're doing.

Spring is here. Swim season is coming!

Your pool should be ready before the first hot weekend, not the weekend after.

Call us at 805-586-2055 for your free estimate, and let's get your water right.
