They are getting bigger. These paper wasp larva are almost ready to start pupating. When they are done, the nest will have multiple wasps, begin growing more quickly and get more aggressive.

Now is the time to take care of wasp nests. The later in the season, bigger and more aggressive the nest, the more difficult it is to take down, and higher chances of complications.

Later in the summer things get crazy and every indication I have seen so far says we are going to have a bad year for wasps and yellow jackets and hornets. Every year the aggressive wasp season seems to be getting longer. Usually I do not start seeing nests this size until late May/early June. These pictures are of a nest I took down last week, on Friday.

If you start to see them forming let me take care of them before they become a bigger problem.
