May the Fourth be with you
May we raise strong, feral women who know exactly what they want and go for it!
A year ago, around this time, came the hard realization that I couldn't return to a job that I loved. I couldn't sit around and let my husband take care of us, I'm not the type but I also couldn't give my job the hours they needed me for. I waited a long time to become a mom and I didn't want to miss out.
I made the decision to start my own business. I fell back on skills I'd developed from working many other jobs over the years. I took EVERYTHING I'd learned over the years... stuff I learned in college, business information I'd learned from other business owners, the insane amount of research I've done over the years (just because I'm curious and can't stand not knowing), skills I'd picked up working in the office, customer service skills. Everything started coming into perspective....
I still didn't know the steps I needed to to get here. So, I did more research, learned to fill out forms and deal with things I never thought I'd have to do. (Starting a business isn't as easy as you think! So much red tape!)
In June I scheduled in my first clients. July I started working for them. I set a bunch of goals and have had to learn so much more this last year to get where I'm at.
I hired a payroll company, got my first employee on the books (its amazing getting to work with your sister-in-law by the way!!!🖤)... I have amazing clients, my brother has joined in helping along the adventure, and we are excited for the clients that are to come.
Whatever it is you want to do, make a plan, set the goals, do the research, talk to people (no amount of research can account for first hand experiences), soak all of it in. Crush the goals. One by one, step by step, even when you're doubting yourself. I've doubted myself every step of the way!! 😂😂 Do the work so that future you can thank you. It's terrifying but so worth it.
Almost a year into my journey, many goals crushed and more made along the way and I'm so excited for the next step.
To everybody who has supported me on this wild ride, I'm beyond thankful for you.
To those who doubted me, keep watching! I'm not done yet😘
