How to keep opossums away from your property
Make sure that you are not leaving food out at night. The animals are nocturnal and regularly eat from garbage cans and dumpsters, pet food bowls, fallen fruit from trees, fresh produce growing in garden plots, chicken feed, and other places. Check that all windows and doors are firmly closed, and that screens or vents aren’t broken, and that other damage hasn’t started to appear elsewhere. Yards should be clear of debris to remove hiding places, and also to make pest presence more obvious.
