Iโ€™ve been MIA on here for a few weeks, and I wanted to share a quick update on where my head is at, particularly for my Tallahassee commercial clients.

My company is strictly commercial now. I will only onboard a new residential account if you are personally referred by one of my active clients.

As a Christian, I had to decide how much energy to put into a cleaning business platform versus my ministry, which is where my true heart is.

This platform will be strictly for my commercial cleaning clients in Tallahassee to see the face behind my work, while my business serves as the financial engine funding my life and ministry. This frees me up to connect with spiritually like-minded people - particularly Christian single ladies who want to be active, live the single life right, and why not the entrepreneurial life, and have true fellowship.

About the apartment complexes, I actually live at one of the properties managed by this company, and my history with them goes way back. Before I started this business, I worked on their renovation projects as an electrician apprentice for almost three years. โšก๏ธ

Iโ€™ve been registered as one of their corporate vendors since 2023. But in 2025, when it came time to renew, we didnโ€™t align on my rates. Because in life and in business, growth requires boundaries, and it is completely OK to set them and keep them.

Fast forward to 2026, and we just picked the partnership back up, completely on my terms and at my regular prices. Iโ€™m stepping back into the original three apartment complexes, and they recently purchased a fourth one just down the street that might be coming up next.

I am also soon relaunching a referral program and looking for well-connected candidates here in the Tallahassee community. While people often offer casual introductions, I am a firm believer in backing up partnerships with real financial incentives (read the pinned comment). When there is a true mutual benefit, the follow-through is natural, and it ensures everyoneโ€™s time, real needs, and professional value are genuinely respected.

14. Starting from scratch with no knowledge
15. No financial literacy

And a greater testimony thatโ€™s related to keeping the Sabbath and tithing is still unfolding.

You don't pay the hairstylist, the contractor, the plumber, the restaurant, or the doctor per hour. None of them hand you a timesheet. They hand you a price for the service.

Cleaning is no different. The ones who charge hourly are training clients to watch the clock and count your coins instead of the results they are paying for.

In the same time, it can absolutely work if you charge hourly, in very specific conditions.

Do not onboard clients that donโ€™t respect your process.

I cannot imagine myself working and wondering what if the client doesnโ€™t pay me. I see incredible stories on cleaning pages where service providers are chasing clients for payment and the client gets upset when that happens. That is what you get when you donโ€™t stand by your process and your standards.

This world is full of broken people who will walk over you only if you allow it. When someone comments on your deposit, your card on file, your prices, or your standards, you are going to chase that money. And there is nothing more irritating than that.

It never happened to me because I learned very early that it was not going to happen. And Iโ€™m not someone that would be nice and patient about it, the whole city will know you if you do that to me and my business. One of the reasons Iโ€™m unapologetic about who I am on here, is because I want the majority of clients to go away. Iโ€™m not building a volume based, take everything that comes my way - business model .

I learned service agreements, standard practices, and this is how I went about it from the beginning. Many conversations didnโ€™t continue because I set those standards in place, and many tire kickers and bad clients selected themselves out when they saw a process and a structure in place.

There are people out there trying to take advantage of others. That is how they live.

So you are not unreasonable for setting a system in place to protect yourself and your business. Ask yourself how you pay for everything in your own life. Can you walk into a gas station or call your insurance provider and say โ€œHey, you donโ€™t have to remind me to pay, I will get to itโ€, and then get mad when they follow up? Payment is mandatory and instant everywhere else.

I put my business on Nextdoor and the only thing I see coming out of it is โ€œHow to bully your bullies as a business ownerโ€ course.

Bullies, mockers, manipulators are my specialty.

Ever since I started my business the most consistent hate I have received has been from older women and I never recognized this as a pattern until recently.

Through dozens of conversations, walkthroughs, and now comment sections on my own posts on Nextdoor it became very clear to me.

They come in with a very specific predetermined idea of who you are before you even open your mouth. Younger, cleaning ladyโ€ฆ In their mind that combination comes with a role and a ceiling they already decided for you. So when you show up articulate, boundaried, confident, and completely unwilling to play the part they wrote for you, it offends them. Because the submission and the gratitude and the naivety they were expecting never showed up.

And now all of a sudden when you stand up to the bully you are the confrontational one. They show up with condescension and they call it chiming in.

Be wise as a serpent, harmless as a dove. Matthew 10:16.

Bullies and mockers are my specialty, and if it was to give an advice is this: never be in agreement with your bully. Backhanded compliments, condescension dressed as concern, criticism dressed as support, manipulation dresses as keeping the peace. We are called to make peace, not to keep the peace. There is no peace without truth.

I prefer to be left alone to do my thing but in this world that is not always possible. I did not go looking for this but it found me anyway and now Iโ€™ll turn it into something good.

I did 50 walk ins across Tallahassee and collected a lot of contacts. And I noticed something that I cannot unsee. Businesses that choose to clean in house are the dirtiest places I walk into. The staff cares, but they were hired to do a completely different job.

There is no time and no skill set to keep up with an office during working hours. That is not their fault. That is neglect from ownership.

You see it the moment you touch the door handle. The baseboards, the walls, the dust on the furniture, the entry. It tells you everything.

I understand financial hardship when you are starting a business. But when you open a gym, a coffee shop, or a medical office, you took on the responsibility of providing a clean environment for your staff and your clients. That is not optional. It affects health and productivity every single day.

I focus on commercial cleaning here in Tallahassee. Three years in this market and I can tell you the state of these spaces is not okay.

When a confident woman finally shows up with a voice and standards, certain people cannot handle it. They donโ€™t engage with the content, they engage with the threat of it and it exposes in them. And the most common response is to try to cut it down, call it confrontational, wild, call it too much, naive, mean, or unprofessional. Anything to make her smaller and more manageable.

It is not about what she said. It is about what she represents. A woman who knows her worth, charges accordingly, sets boundaries, and refuses to apologize for any of it disrupts a very comfortable hierarchy. And the people most threatened by that disruption are usually the ones who never built anything themselves.

In this hotel bathroom, only the faucet, the countertop and the floor were cleaned. Dust everywhere, shower and sink untouched. Reasonable quality for reasonable prices.
