Susquehanna Hometown Days 5-K Race

Dan Wolfe 5K This run/walk race encourages residents and visitors to participate in a fun, healthy and social event while supporting our community.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the Susquehanna Community Development Association “SCDA” (501c6) Events Committee who continue to strive to make our community a nicer and more welcome place for all. What does the SCDA and Susquehanna Borough accomplish together for our community?

• SCDA worked with local, regional, and state agencies acquiring grants to improve sidewalks, neighborhood hom

e and business facades, and the removal of blighted buildings.
• Decorating our downtown with flowers and festive holiday decorations during the year.
• Sponsors of the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony , and Breakfast with Santa which allows hundreds of our are young children and parents to participate in fun filled community events.
• Hometown Days – This 4 day event kicks off with a parade and includes a carnival, music, food, vendors, fireworks and the 5-K run.
• SCDA is also looking forward to partnering with the Susquehanna Borough to sponsor future “Rockin’ By The River” festival in celebration of our area music, arts and community at the future River Front Park.
• 13 acre, River Front Park development
• A comprehensive Blight Removal plan that is aimed at making our community a cleaner and safer environment for our neighborhoods. We are also very please to announce Falcon Timing that we will be using to calculate the winners. This will cut the time it took last year down significantly! No more waiting for hours to find out where you place. If you have any questions or would like more information, please send us a message! One of the best things about our 5K is that it’s truly an event for the whole family! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🐾

Pictured here are Austin, Jenna, and their pup, Nala. All three had the opportunity to place in our race, and Nala even completed her very first 5K! 🎉

Whether you’re chasing a personal record, walking with friends, or bringing your four-legged family member along for the fun, our race is all about making memories together. Thanks for being part of another great year!

It was another successful race this year and we are very lucky to be able to have beat the bad weather! We could not do this without all of our sponsors, the businesses and people who donated raffles, The Susquehanna Community School District, The Susquehanna Borough, Barnes Kasson Hospital, The Susquehanna Fire Department, Trehab Transportation, People's Security Bank & Trust, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, members of The St. John's Mens Club and The American Legion. Also, we would like to specifically thank a few including Adam from WilTime, Norma Chacona, Joe Bucci, Joe Adornato, Heather Krayeski, Pam Hennessey, Aubree Hennessey, Briana Burke, Kim Burke, John Ackley, George Overmeyer, Kevin McKee and Jackson Maby!

We appreciate the continuous support of the community and all the racers who travel near and far to be a part of this event along with their family and friends who come to cheer them all on! We will be posting the final finish times later today.

I, Kiera Hennessey, would like to thank our entire community who helps out and shows up year after year. Today was my final race after 5 years and I could have never done it without everyone! Thank you all for helping me make it successful!

Race Day Registration opens at 6:30 AM in front of the High School entrance and will remain open right up until the race begins.

Trehab is providing transportation for participants the day of the race from 7 to 9:30 a.m.

🚌 If you need a ride to the starting line, please park down at Schneider's Market on Erie Avenue, Susquehanna, and the Trehab Bus will be at that location.
🚌 If you need a ride back to the HS after the race is finished, the bus will run until 9:30 a.m.

Susquehanna-Wyoming County Transportation (SWCT) is a Shared-Ride Transportation Service Sponsored by the PA Department of Human Services, PENNDOT, and other funding sources.
