The technician will inspect properties and identify if there is an infestation, decide on the appropriate treatment, and safely administer appropriate tactics to eradicate pests or w**ds and keep them from coming back. Technician Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding pest management
- Assess customer property to identify warning signs of potential pest problems, such as termites, rodents, or other unwanted pests
- Provide guidance for the best extermination process for the identified infestation and what the treatment process will consist of; pesticide use, traps, and/or other pest control methods
- Measure the treatment area and mix the correct amount of materials in the applicator per the label.
- Spray the necessary pesticides in appropriate areas of infestation
- Follow federal and state laws and safety procedures, follow product instructions at all times and adhere to personal protective equipment requirements and protocols
- Record work activities, notate accounts and complete all paperwork after completing services
Pest Control Technician Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Pest control licensure from the Department of Agriculture (required to apply materials, can be obtained during training)
- United States driver's license and clean driving record
Clean background check
- 1+ year of work experience in pest control (preferred, not required)
- Comfortable with an outdoor work environment in a variety of weather conditions
- Able to work with different types of critters, including rodents, termites, spiders and more
- Able to climb into crawl spaces, walk up stairs, and lift 50-pounds on a daily basis
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Superb customer service skills
Pest Control Technician Compensation
- $15-$17/hourly depending on experience with bonus opportunities and employee discounts.
