The next tint and detailing availability will be the week of the 28th. I've got about 3 very time consuming repair jobs I need to get finished and out of here before we get too much later into the season. I would like to get them done before I get booked up with Pre-winter detailing projects. I appreciate the support from everyone!

When I first started down here I was always wondering about the what if's. What if it doesn't work out, what if I run out of things to do, and so on. Well, I promise that hasn't been an issue. I'm to the point where I'm starting to get my start up costs under control and paid off where hopefully in the next 2-3 years I can/could think about hiring another full time person. It was always a goal of mine but I didn't think it would happen this fast. I know there's plenty to still learn and get better at but that all comes with time. I still have my eye on getting into some body work but that is something I plan on perfecting on my own stuff before I try to do it on customer cars.

Just a heads up, I will be closed next Friday and Saturday (August 7th and 8th) as I will be attending the NASCAR weekend at the Iowa Speedway. I will also be closed on August 13th as I will be attending the state fair. Been about a year since I've taken a day off and I could use a day or two off.

Haven't posted in a while! It has been super busy around here and I've been buried in work.

Here lately I have really been hitting window tinting very hard. Not only have I had a bit to do but I've been trying to figure out what I need to do to cut back on contamination. I've watched a lot of YouTube videos (consider me Master YouTube Window Tinter). I learned how to cut back on contamination tremendously. The window pictured is what it looked like 2-3 days after application. So I'm super pumped about that.

Happy July 1st and happy new window tint law day! Today marks the start of a new window tint law. The new law states that you can have a drop tint to the AS1 line, you can now have 50% tint on the front side windows, and the rear sides and rear windshield can be as dark as you want.

50% is a very very light tint but hey it is a start and we will take what we can get!

I had a vehicle come in that had a profound misfire. They originally took it to a dealership down in Des Moines that told them it needed an engine and quoted them an astronomical amount for repairs.

I started diagnostics by running a cooling system pressure test. There were no signs of any leakage internally or externally. While in the process of this we found 2 of the 4 spark plugs were cracked which would definitely allow a misfire condition to happen. We then replaced the spark plugs and cured the misfire condition.

Here recently the Right to Repair Act has been a huge topic among manufacturers. They want to make independent shops a thing of the past. This is a prime example of why taking your car to the dealer isn't always the answer. I know the shop I started at and learned A LOT at took pride in their work and to take care of their customers. I carry that over here and want to do the best I can not only for myself but for my customers. All a dealership means is they sell cars it doesn't mean they always get repairs right, heck I don't always get them right at first either but I try to do my best.

I have June 24th, 25th, 29th, and 30th open for detailing and tint. Otherwise we will be scheduling for July.
