SkyTide Pools & Spas

SkyTide Pools & Spas Swimming pool cleaning and chemistry gurus! Skytide incorporates the LSI algorithm to balance the pools between being acidic and alkaline.

This way the pool doesn't grow scale or get etched. Temperature is the biggest deciding factor so you're pool would be balanced for each season accordingly.

Avg water temperature: 82-87

If you are not spending summer by the pool, then water you doing?

Clients!

The pool is warming up, be sure to get some swim-time in this Summer! Everything is chillin' at your pool, the chemistry is in perfect LSI*, the sanitation properties bring a high ORP* value thanks to a perfect CYA* PPM* count.

LSI Langelier Saturation Index
ORP Oxidation-Reduction Potential
CYA Cyanuric Acid
PPM Parts Per Million
Phosphates Primary food source for algae

Important Reminder on Adding Water to the Pool.

There are three ways to fill a pool: by auto-fill, using a water hose, or through rain. Ideally, we want the pool to be topped off with rainwater, as rain is sterile, phosphate-free, and has a low pH as it is a form of condensation.

In reality, most of the new water for the pool comes from the tap. Tap water contains high levels of alkalinity, phosphates, and metals, which is why it's important to add water carefully. A water faucet timer is the best way to prevent over-filling the pool. Most of my clients who use a water hose have this installed. Here’s the link if you don’t have a timer: https://a.co/d/8A9DSTx.

With this timer, I can top off your pool while I'm there.

What happens if the pool gets over-filled?
Similar to a fish tank getting knocked over or your computers hard-drive getting Formatted.

Imagine holding a cup of coffee under your sinks faucet for 5 minutes.. How much coffee would be left after that time? If the color of the coffee represents your pools chemistry, then the cup of water after 5 minutes reflects an over-filled pool.

The pool loses all its ability to fight off harmful bacteria, the plaster wants to release all the algae trapped inside of its pores, hopefully the filter doesn't blow up. Pools that need replastering are hit the worst. It's that perfect chemistry that's keeping you from having to replaster right now.

The chemistry would need to be rebuilt and the filter cleaned out. If this accidently happens at your pool let us know. We do a full spectrum water test at each visit so I will notice it and bring it to your attention. Usually $125 covers the cost for the chemicals needed, however if the water was on for a day or more that bill could be $500+.

Thanks for your business.

For now there’s no indication of extremely cold weather, but the rest of January does look to be rather winter-like for Houston. While there may be the odd 70-degree day, for the most part we’ll be colder during the daytime, with plenty of nights in the 30s and 40s. A freeze is possible as soon as Sunday morning in outlying areas of the region, and it will definitely make for a cold and possibly breezy Houston Marathon.
