Blast from the Past!

This is the only picture I have of me hand wetsanding the fresh paint on a 1972 Dino 246 GTS. This was somewhere in the Portland, Oregon area, I think around 1997 or 1998.

I was the THIRD guy brought in to sand and buff this car. The first two guys had sanded and buffed through the single-stage paint, and the car had to be repainted.

No pressure, right? LOL!

I knocked out the sanding and buffing in one day.

At the time, I would have been using the Makita 9207 SPC rotary polisher I purchased new in 1988.

If you look carefully, you can see the red sanding slurry on the ground surrounding the car. That’s a telltale sign you’re sanding single-stage paint!

I’m pretty sure this picture was taken with my Sony Mavica MVC-FD5. Before we had cameras on our phones, this thing saved pictures onto a 3½-inch floppy disk. LOL!

Wish I still had that camera, just for the nostalgia.

Blast from the Past! Working with Bryan Fuller on
Two Guys Garage back when I was at Autogeek.

Bryan is a stand-up guy an always a lot of fun to work with. We shot quite a few videos with Bryan at the Two Guys Garage TV Studio in Clearwater Florida. All those videos are still on the Autogeek YouTube Channel. These were great times and I will aways be thankful for that opportunity.

1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk TRAINING CAR!

I just confirmed the first of many training cars for the upcoming 2-day class that includes sanding some other dude's muscle car on the second day of class. Normally I bring in 7 cars for a small class. This is just the first of many.

The owner, Chris, a long-time friend of mine brought it and together we did the BAGGIE TEST and the paint feels like 40 GRIT SANDPAER! The paint also has the normal swirls and scratches that are common to super cool cars like this.

This two day class includes a FREE/BONUS class for those that are in town on Friday, February 26th. This free/bonus class normally covers how to remove wiper scratches out of glass aka Sub-Surface Glass Polishing.

Then the normal class takes place on Saturday, February 27th and Sunday, February 28th.
