Webworms can strip leaves and cause damage in over 600 different tree species and their webs can grow as large as 3 feet across. One female webworm can lay up to 1,500 eggs at once and are only beneficial in small numbers, helping decompose organic matter. Oklahoma's hot summers create perfect conditions for 2-3 generations per year.
🌳 What makes Oklahoma special? Our native pecan, oak, and elm trees are webworm favorites, and our extended growing season means they stay active longer than in northern states.
