October in Mid-Michigan means freezing ground isn't far off. Taking a few simple steps now saves major headaches once the frost sets in:

• Have your liquid level checked or pumped - a full tank is much harder and costlier to service once the ground freezes solid.
• Cover exposed tank risers and lids with straw or insulation blankets to block deep frost.
• Place visible stakes at your tank and drain field corners before snow arrives to avoid vehicle damage.
• Disconnect and drain external garden hoses to prevent water from backing up near your foundation.
• Leave your lawn grass slightly taller over the drain field during your last mow to provide natural insulation.

Need help checking your system before winter? Call your neighborhood crew at Daniels Septic Service at (989) 654-3199.

The septic repair results are in…

The wipes claimed they were “flushable,” but the system determined… that was a lie. 😂

Wipes, paper towels, and anything other than toilet paper can cause serious septic problems. Keep it simple, keep it septic-safe, and save yourself from an expensive surprise.
