A couple of weeks ago I posted about the cicada killer wasp. Well, this is a rare sight to actually see the wasp with a cicada in its grasp. Right before taking it into it’s burrow. Guess what day it is? It’s Fun Find Friday!!
This week we’re looking at powder post beetles. I would say that most people don’t even know what these guys are. The ones that do, it’s because they’ve had issues with them in the past. A customer was having issues with rodents, when I stopped by for the inspection found these wood destroying beetles. No I wasn’t there for beetles, but I have the mindset that if I see something, I’m going to say something. There’s no worse feeling when a customer says, “why didn’t you tell me about this earlier?” And all you can say is “you didn’t ask.” I’d rather let you know so you can make that decision for yourself. Happy Halloween!! O wait, nope that’s just a little over 50 bats roosting in this vent. I can get them out, just after their maternity season is over. Yes, they are protected from May 1 to July 31 and I can’t do ANYTHING for bats during that time. Yes, during that time they have more rights to your house than you do. While I will gladly help you get the bats out of your home, I have to follow the law and wait until the restrictions are over.
