Roots tend to be a problem especially on older systems and lines. We have root-rooting capabilities, which can fix drainage issues. Or have capabilities to replace.
Pic 1 is hair-roots that have spread through a 4” sewer.
Pic 2 shows roots creeping into a septic tank around an outlet baffle.
Pic 3 is an infiltrator leach chamber that was 100% filled with roots due to being installed in poor soil conditions.

We ensure proper pitch for sewer lines. While downhill flow is crucial, many people underestimate the importance of optimal slope. In reality, excessive slope can be just as detrimental as insufficient slope. For a typical 4-inch line, a pitch of 1/8” to 1/4” per foot is necessary. A level line will not drain, and an overly steep line will cause liquids to drain faster than solids, leaving solids behind in the pipe. Both situations lead to drainage problems, which we can resolve.

Not all build up will slow down a drain.
This is grease build up in a kitchen sink. Although this won't slow drainage, it did create an unpleasant odor in this customers kitchen. We were able to use our power snake to clean this pipe from the sink trap to the main drain line.
