Recently, we completed the refinishing of the bench and rolltop for the console of the organ at the Proto Cathedral of St. James the Greater in Vancouver, WA. It's only taken 12 years and 4 previous Music Directors before they found one who wanted the console rolltop and bench completed.

We recently completed a quick project of an emergency nature. The 1896 Kimball reed organ used by the band Pearl Jam was in respiratory distress. It was brought to us for wind system restoration before being shipped to Europe on June 7 for their upcoming tour. Happy to report the patient sounds and performs much better now (and looks a bit better after a cleaning and wood conditioning).

We were down in Vancouver on Sun./Mon./Tues. For the first steps in installing the floating 8' Processional Trumpet at the Proto-Cathedral of St. James the Greater. We were extremely grateful to Music Dir. Ben España and parishioner Paul Deming along with our good friend Jesse Zylstra who helped carry the blower, regulator, windchests, pipes, and tools up the roughly 60 narrow circular stairs to the 2nd gallery. The chest is set-up, blown-out, racks attached, and pipes seated. Console work is nearly complete. Casework will follow.

The Processional Trumpet was in wretched shape. Some of the resonators had been folded-over to fit inside a short box. And three of them required replacement pieces at the ends of the stems. But it is now racked, has been tested on its chest and voiced, and will soon be going to its new home. Casework will follow.

Excited to be working towards completion and installation of the final 2 stops on our Vancouver, WA. organ. We got to finally have access to a shop to do the pipe repairs and dent removal a couple of months ago. Have been racking and voicing pipes since then.

We appear to have a new resident at the shop!

We were delighted to have a visit from Halden Toy at St. John's yesterday. He played a BIG Krebs piece and it was a treat to hear the organ play some real literature. . .even in rough and unregulated form. Thank you, Halden...the parishioners present really appreciated it too! (y) :-)
