Food and feels🥗🤗

Sometimes it’s the little things that count, like DIY motivational cups so that our staff will always know they mean the world to us, snowballs to really add the flavor to our Circus, and a salad to cancel out all the sweets they’ve received this week!

Thank you New Orleans Style Snowballs for bringing in a cool front and surprising some of our lucky staff with your NOLA Show Stoppers🧊🍭

It’s Cinco De Mayo🎉🪅

The show continues with a widespread for lunch. What better way to celebrate the holiday and teacher appreciation than a taco bar!

The PTO Board is elected each spring, and it's just about time to elect a new board for the 2026-2027 school year.

Nominations and Voting will take place during the April 9 PTO meeting.

You could be the next WES PTO President, Co-Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, or Volunteer Coordinator! Each position is nominated and elected, previous boards have had each person to pitch in and do what we can to help one another, our school, and our Wildcats. All Board members help make decisions about which events the PTO will hold, what fundraisers we'll do, and much more to support the WES community, and all help run meetings, fundraisers, and events. Every board position is key to a successful PTO.

The PTO Board is elected each spring, and it's just about time to elect a new board for the 2026-2027 school year.

Nominations will take place at our March 12 meeting

Voting will take place during the April 9 PTO meeting.

You could be the next WES PTO President, Co-Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, or Volunteer Coordinator! The basic position descriptions are below, but the board usually works best as a team, meaning we all pitch in and do what we can to help one another, our school, and our Wildcats. All Board members help make decisions about which events the PTO will hold, what fundraisers we'll do, and much more to support the WES community, and all help run meetings, fundraisers, and events. Every board position is key to a successful PTO.

President

The President shall preside over all meetings of the organization and of the Executive Board at which he/she may be present; shall serve as the official representative of the organization; shall perform such duties as may be prescribed in the bylaws or assigned by the PTO or the Executive Board; shall coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the organization.

The President typically calls meetings, sets dates for events with the Board, liaises with the principal, meets and coordinates with vendors, holds a bank card for the PTO account, and orders Spirit Wear.

Co-Vice Presidents

The First Co-Vice President shall act as an aide to the President and shall perform the duties of the President in the absence or disability of that officer. The Second Co-Vice President shall act as an aide to the President and shall perform duties of the President in the absence or disability of the President and the First Co-Vice President.

The Co-Vice Presidents often coordinate the fundraisers including Spirit Nights, meet with vendors, conduct PTO business needed during and after the school day.

Treasurer

The treasurer shall receive all funds of the organization, keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, develop a yearly budget, file any local, state and federal tax data, and pay receipts in accordance with the approval of the executive board. He or she shall present a financial statement at every meeting and at the special request of the executive board. The treasurer shall also make a full report at the end of the fiscal year.

The treasurer prepares and monitors the budget, keeps track of the funds coming in and going out of the organization, and holds the bank card and checks. The treasurer picks up checks sent into the school for PTO, makes deposits, withdraws cash for cash boxes before events, and purchases supplies such as concessions. This position typically involves some daytime duties, such as the visits to the bank or store the day of an event.

Secretary

The Secretary shall prepare an agenda and record/publish the minutes of all PTO meetings. The Secretary shall prepare monthly calendars and newsletters, update the PTO website and school marquee boards with upcoming PTO events, and prepare flyers and reminders for PTO events. The Secretary shall oversee internal and external communication content for the PTO, compile and distribute the PTO membership for the school year. The Secretary shall maintain the By-laws, keeping them current on all revisions, and providing all officers copies. The Secretary shall handle correspondence, i.e. letters, thank you notes.

Tasks typically performed by the Secretary include:

Preparing meeting agendas & minutes
Creating Facebook posts and events
Updating WES website PTO pages
Regularly checking email
Creating flyers and forms for Wildcats to prepay for events
Volunteer Coordinator

The Parent Volunteer Coordinator shall recruit volunteers for PTO functions as well as WES volunteers as needed. The Parent Volunteer Coordinator shall help promote volunteerism in the school, and shall keep a list of volunteers to include email and telephone lists.

Tasks typically performed by the Volunteer Coordinator include:

Designing and administering volunteer survey
