As the owner of my Cleaning service and I am the only one serving.
I charge a fee that covers everything.
My time, materials, equipment, taxes, insurance, gas, vehicle, advertisement cards, etc.
Time spent that you don't see, like cleaning the vacuum, the filters, washing quality cloths EVERYDAY, purchasing and organizing products, researching the best everything...
There are many more things that happen before and after I arrive to clean your home and many more expenses that are taken into account than just paying for my time spent in your home. Not to mention the experience of working with all the many items in your home and professional experience of being a business owner and service provider.
Tips... well I charge a price I feel covers my time for all those things I mentioned above.
However, I always appreciate when a client offers a tip or does something nice for me as I always put my best into caring for their home and family (and pets).
I have been gifted cash, gift cards, Mani Pedi's, gift baskets, donation items (if I can't use/I continue to forward the donation items to charity) been paid for days they cancelled which helps me maintain my budget and I assure you it takes a little longer and I do gratefully make up for the lost time on the following visit.
We have to remember, we are a community and we are serving our community both ways. Getting great service deserves a reward and being rewarded should warrant great service. ☯️
I don't expect those things, but they go far in showing appreciation and make me want to give more in return. All year round is nice, but especially at Christmas as I take only the week off between Christmas and New Year's, and I don't get paid if I'm not working.
I hope that gives insight from a business owner and service provider of 30+ years.
7 years in the cleaning service, here in Spring Hill, TN. 🥰
