We spend about 1/3 of our lives sleeping. So why wouldn't we want to keep the place that rejuvenates us clean?

Tip #1 -
Make your bed every morning after you get up. This simple task can make your room appear clean and organized.
If you have a nightstand keep the top free of clutter this will quickly make a room feel dirty.

Tip #2 -
Check under your bed and in your closets. Not for monsters but for loose socks and clothing or even garbage and other items you keep in your room. Our dogs sleep on the floor in our room and our puppy likes to bring her toys in with her at night, so on occasion I find them hidden under the bed.

Tip #3 -
Keep a basket in your room for dirty clothes. After a little training you will start putting your clothes in the hamper and not on the floor.

Did you know? The third millennium B.C. Was the "Age of Cleanliness." They invented toilets and sewer systems in many parts of the world. Though even the most advanced toilets were wooden seats over a hole and the waste was washed away into the municipal drainage system. Thank goodness we've come so far! Let's not take our modern bathrooms for granted and let them fall into disarray. The bathroom is one of my least favorite jobs while cleaning, but it's one of the most important places to keep clean, for obvious reasons.

Tip #1 -
First thing you do when cleaning the bathroom is spray down the shower/tub and put cleaner in the toilet. Then start dusting the lights while they are still cool then clean the sink and counters. After you're done then you are ready to tackle the toilet and shower. Start scrubbing top to bottom in the shower then rinse and shine the faucet. After cleaning the toilet make sure you wipe down every inch, including the floor behind it.

Tip #2 -
When's the last time you washed your hand towel? Bath rag? Or bath mat and shower curtain? All of these items trap moisture which is a great place for bacteria to grow. Now it a perfect time to take everything that is washable and clean it. It really does make a difference.

Tip #3 -
Does your ventilation fan have fur growing on it? The easiest way to clean these are to take them down and wash them with warm soapy water, let them dry and then stick them back up.

Open those windows and turn up the jams! It's time to tackle the living room.
When it's time to relax where do you head? Most of us cuddle up in the couch and turn on the TV or open a book. So why not take some time to show the area some love since it's been so kind to you?

Tip #1 -
Clearing the couch and any tables will make the room appear much more tidy, so start there. While you're at it get under those couch cushions. Who knows? You may find a lost treasure!

Tip #2 -
Cleaning the tracks on the slider door is probably the last thing on your mind but keeping the track clean can make opening and closing the door much easier. As an added bonus spray a bit of WD40 so lubricate the track.

Tip #3 -
Washing the walls, especially if you have little ones, is a great idea for Spring cleaning. First thing you need to do is determine the type of wall you are dealing with. For instance paneled walls cannot be cleaned using the same chemicals as painted walls. Just do a quick search on the internet to find the best way to clean your walls and then have at it! I use a swiffer mop and a wet rag, it's faster and easier to reach all the way to the ceiling.

Let's start our Spring cleaning adventure in the Kitchen, since so much of our lives are spent there.
Spring cleaning is all about showing love to all the places that have been neglected for a while.

Tip #1 -
Declutter! Have you noticed how the kitchen seems to attract everything from dirty dishes and soda cans to mail and school work? Grabbing a garbage bag and tossing all the mess will give the kitchen an instant make over.

Tip #2 -
If you oven has a self clean function don't start it until you are out of the kitchen. They get really hot and it will make cleaning miserable. Also opening a window will help if there's a smell that starts coming from the oven during the cycle.
