📣 Big News from Skip’s Automotive 🚗🔧

After 38 wonderful years serving the good people of Mount Desert Island, the time has come for me to turn the page and begin a new chapter—retirement!

Running Skip’s Automotive has been one of the greatest honors of my life. This community has been more than just customers—you’ve been neighbors, friends, and a second family. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me and my crew with your vehicles all these years. I truly couldn’t have done it without you.

Now, I’m excited to announce that the shop is in great hands moving forward. Starting May 1st, Skip’s Automotive will officially become Fletcher’s Auto, owned and operated by the talented and dedicated team of James and Miranda Fletcher.

Here’s the most important thing you should know: not much is changing. You’ll still see the same friendly faces in the shop, offering the same reliable services you’ve come to count on. The shop will be getting a bit of a facelift, but the heart and soul of the business will stay the same.

Please join me in welcoming James and Miranda to the wheel. I couldn’t be happier to see the shop continue on with folks who care about this community just as much as I do.

Thank you again, M.D.I., for nearly four decades of support. I’m looking forward to slowing down a bit, maybe fixing up a few things at home that I’ve been “meaning to get to,” and enjoying a well-earned retirement.

HAPPY FALL ! I am writing today about the damage done to our cars by the winter road salt . We are servicing a 2015 Ford sedan, and after lifting up, I was shocked at the amount of rust and some have caused holes that have rusted thru.... I would encourage the use of the car wash here and anywhere to get the road salt off the car. ALSO highly recommend to get your car undercoated. We have being using Fluid Film on my personal and work vehicles for years with great results. We have lots of customers that have their cars undercoated and it saving the value and condition of their investment. It is the cheapest insurance you can buy for your car longer life and your investment of $. Give a call make an appointment and use the car washes around the state to get the salt off! 207-244-7276
