40 years ago, when Regal Maid first opened its doors, the world looked a whole lot different. Let's look back. 👀
In 1986, Nintendo was the household favorite, Top Gun was the movie of the year, and Cabbage Patch Kids and Teddy Ruxpin were the toys everyone wanted. VHS rentals and camcorders were becoming everyday entertainment, while big hair, shoulder pads, neon colors and leg warmers were very much in style. 😂
On TV, you could find The Golden Girls, ALF, Family Ties and Cheers. On the radio? Livin’ on a Prayer, Walk Like an Egyptian and Papa Don’t Preach.
Fast forward 40 years and things look pretty different.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is one of the hottest gaming consoles, TikTok is the app everyone knows, and Labubu and Jellycat plushies are the must-have toys. Butter yellow, wide-leg jeans, bag charms and retro sneakers are making their way into today’s closets, while Wednesday, The Bear, The Last of Us and Stranger Things are some of the shows keeping people glued to their screens.
And the cars? The Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Ford F-150 and Tesla Model Y are a far cry from the Ford Mustangs, Chevy Camaros, Jeep Cherokees and Honda Accords of 1986.
Even our everyday gadgets have changed. Wireless earbuds are now so common that it’s hard to imagine a time when something like that would have seemed futuristic.
A lot can happen in 40 years. Trends change. Technology changes. Music changes. Cars change. What people watch, wear and play with changes.
But Regal Maid hasn’t💙
For 40 years, we’ve been right here, doing what we’ve always done: taking care of homes and serving the people in our community. We’re proud to have been part of the last 40 years, and even more excited to see what the next 40 bring.
