Regular maintenance is the single most effective way to keep dirt from embedding deep into the carpet and rug fibers.
Vacuum Frequently and Thoroughly:
High-Traffic Areas (hallways, entrances, in front of the couch): Vacuum 2-3 times per week.
Low-Traffic Areas (bedrooms, under furniture): Vacuum at least once a week.
Technique: Go slowly, make multiple passes from different directions, and use a vacuum with a rotating brush or be**er bar (unless your carpet manufacturer advises against it).
Institute a "No Shoes" Policy: Shoes track in an immense amount of dirt, soil, and outdoor chemicals. Removing them at the door is one of the biggest game-changers for a clean carpet.
Use Mats: Place high-quality mats outside and inside all entrances to trap dirt before it reaches the carpet.
Change Air Filters: Regularly replacing your HVAC air filters helps remove airborne dust and particles that can eventually settle onto your carpet.
