I am looking for cleaners who would like to volunteer to a 2 day project to help with one client’s hoarding clean. This is a special case. I really could use 2-3 trustworthy people willing to donate their time to help. No backing out. Once you commit, I expect you to be there, so please do not say you’ll do it if you are one who commonly backs out of things. I and the client will provide cleaning supplies for this job. Any PPE you wish to have needs to be self-supplied (masks, suits, foot covers, gloves). There are two living rooms, two bedrooms, a kitchen and a bath. Location is in Maple Lanes on SB’s northwest side.

Backstory: I was doing weekly cleanings, but I was in a serious car accident in June and was unable to clean for about two months. This person needs weekly cleanings to keep up. I can keep up after this. She has POTS and a slew of other health issues that have been disabling the last two years and she is stuck in bed a good majority of the time. Her son is autistic and has brittle bone syndrome. They have a very elderly dog with incontinence issues and have had mice, which we are trying to evict from the premises but that has been difficult because of the mess. I’m still recovering from my accident and me doing all of this alone would take me a full week of long work days. I cannot do it alone. We need help!

I’m planning the work days for sometime early May. I kind of want this to be a surprise for Mother’s Day. She trusts me, and I have permission to bring in help when I need to. I can maintain it weekly once it is done.

Again, this is a VOLUNTEER position. We will not be recording this - I’m not looking for TikTok influencers who wish to boost their following. Only I will be permitted to take pics, and only the ones that she gives the ok to will be able to be posted (those she says ok to will be shared with the cleaners as well so they can add it to their cleaning page if they want to). I’m looking for cleaners with a huge heart. I will provide a dinner for us at a pizza place at the end of the second day. Any cleaner who steps in to help will get a huge shoutout on both my cleaning page and wherever I am able to post it. Why? Because I believe good people should be recognized for the work they do from the heart, without having to toot their own horns!

If you are willing to do this with me, please message me with your availability and I can provide you with more details.

Stop. Using. Toilet. Bowl. Cleaner. In. Your. Shower. 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼

Folks, quit doing it, quit suggesting it and for heaven’s sake, stop making videos touting this as a miracle cleaner for ANYTHING other than toilets. This trend is dangerous and damaging. I don’t care if you don’t see damage right away. It is happening.

You’re etching tiles. You’re removing protective coats. You’re discoloring surfaces. You’re removing the sealing on grout.

Be smart, not lazy, and definitely don’t use your client’s homes as the place to play cleaning product roulette. That is simply disrespectful. Just because you saw a cleaner use a “hack” does not mean it is a safe hack, or at least not necessarily safe for the surface you’re using it on.

— On a side note, would you believe this post got me suspended from Secrets From A Cleaning Lady group? 🤦🏻‍♀️ Apparently the truth is considered bullying 🙄 I left the group. I cannot endorse a group that silences the truth. —

This has been quite the year for me, with a lot of ups and downs. I got married, had a bad car accident, my husband has had surgery twice. Due to the accident, I have had to let a lot of my cleaning clients go so I can physically keep up with my workload with the few lingering clients I haven chosen to keep due to them being elderly or disabled.

2026 is going to have a new focus. I am no longer taking on regularly scheduled weekly, bi-weekly or monthly clients. What I will be doing this coming year is continuing to do hoarding cleans, one time cleans for holidays or special events, organizing, and rescue cleans. I’m also still doing pet nail trims and bathing. So if you need me, I’m around and you can reach out to me.

It has been a pleasure to be able to serve in the way I have the past few years. Change isn’t easy for me, and if I wasn’t in pain my schedule would still be completely full. I have appreciated each of you that has referred me to others, given me reviews both on here and on the Next Door App, been patient with me when I’ve had scheduling conflicts or health concerns, and have basically become like extended family to me.

You are the BEST part of me doing this. I appreciate all of you!

My schedule is once again full for weekly and bi-weekly clients! The only clients I will be taking on at this current moment are for once a week extreme clutter/hoarding cleans. These are more detailed and a lot more labor intensive cleans.

Are you overwhelmed? Do you have a room or a house that is full of trash, broken things and items that need to be cleaned and organized? Are you being buried alive?
I CAN HELP!
I will also accept sponsored cleans, as long as the homeowner and the sponsor both agree to and sign the contract.

I am non-judgmental, friendly and efficient. I specialize in emergency type situations and get so much satisfaction in helping others find their calm by helping to clear out their chaos. Please, I realize this is intimidating, but I promise you that I can help you and put you more at ease.

What does this entail?
1. The first step is a text or call. There is NO judgment from me! During your call, we will schedule a walk through.
2. During the walk through, I will do my best to give you an estimate on the amount of time I believe it will take to get your room(s) cleared, cleaned and organized and any additional cost associated.
3. Trash bags, gloves and most cleaning supplies are at my expense. Vacuum, broom/dustpan and mop need to be provided by homeowner. I will discuss during the walkthrough if any additional items will need to be provided.
4. No cockroaches or bedbugs. No dead animals (mice not included, as this is a common find in hoarding cleans). If you know or suspect these are in the home and it is not disclosed beforehand, there will be an additional biohazard cost per day and the contract may be voided. I owe it to my other clients and my family to not bring bugs home with me.
5. A detailed contract is made for these cleans so that you know what all you will be getting from me. Payment up front (non-refundable) the day of the first clean, before I begin cleaning, is required.

Hoarding cleans start at $1300/month and are billed monthly at the first clean of that month. If it is determined during walk through that less time will be needed, I will adjust the fee accordingly before the contract is signed.

I understand depression, grief, shopping addiction, mental blocks, overwhelm and disability. You don’t have to be embarrassed. Friend, I’ve got you covered! Don’t bless this mess - let’s take care of it. 🧹🪣 🗑️

This has been a busy busy year! I’m going to talk to you today about an equally important part of work, and that is REST. Every week, I take Saturday, Shabbat, my day of rest. Without this day of rest, I would fall apart physically, spiritually and mentally. But even with this day, sometimes my body says enough is enough and it starts to demand a deeper rest. This year I began having foot pain and my hips kept going out of place. Then I broke a toe. Apparently this wasn’t enough to take me down. I didn’t want to let clients down and so I continued to hustle. My hips continued to worsen and I developed bilateral iliopsoas bursitis. By August I was having a hard time moving - but I continued to work. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Now we are in the month of November and I’m making plans for a forced rest, a bedrest of sorts. From December 18th through January 15th, I will be taking a break from cleaning houses, with exception of a couple of weekly clients that cannot go without my assistance. I will be giving my hips a break and hopefully will recover in those 4 weeks so that they don’t take me down during a less opportune time.

All of this is being said to stress that REST is important. Don’t hustle yourself into an early grave. Take care of yourself physically. Take care of yourself mentally and spiritually too, because if you don’t, you will eventually find yourself without a choice to do so… by sickness, injury, loss or death. Take care of yourself.

Does your cleaning service leave your floors looking like this first picture? And do they charge you an arm and a leg to do so? Maybe it is time to ditch that cleaning service and contact Don’t Bless This Mess!

*Note: This floor is a work in progress but also has some rotting. Eventually they will need to replace the wood but until then, I aim to make it as nice as possible.
