It is with great sorrow that I announce the closing of Don’t Bless This Mess as a housecleaning service. I have waited a year to make this announcement, as I was hoping I’d have experienced more healing than I have. Physically I cannot handle this work anymore. I’m literally in tears over this, as I have spent the past 5 years building my business and securing a good reputation through hard work, sweat, blood and tears. I’ve worked 4 hour days, I’ve worked 14 hour days, and I’ve had clients who have become an extension of my family. I have loved doing this work!
A year ago today I was involved in a car accident. The accident totaled my vehicle and left me with permanent damage to my leg and back as well as some lingering issues with my neck. There were 4 vehicles involved (I was car 3). Three of us were stopped when a young man on his cell phone ran into me at 54mph. I have had many months of physical therapy, doctors appointments, a surgery and now am at the point where it is pain and symptom management for the rest of my life. This has been a mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting year.
I give a special shoutout to my hardworking husband, who has busted his butt every single day to keep food on the table, bills paid and our vehicles running as smoothly as possible. Thank you for never complaining about my inability to add to our finances or the days I simply cannot move much. Babe, you have been such a treasure to me and I thank God for you every day!
I will continue to give advice, tips, and encouragement to people. So while I cannot physically do this work anymore, the knowledge I have will not be wasted. I may even post some recipes on green methods of housecleaning.
You, my clients, have been amazing. The grace people have shown me since my accident has me in my feelings today. I appreciate all of you. Thank you for bringing a sparkle into my life while I brought a sparkle into your home. ✨
