As the owner of Two Moms & A Mop, I’ve learned that owning a small business is about so much more than cleaning homes. It’s early mornings, late nights, answering calls after hours, missing time with family, investing every dollar back into the business, and carrying the weight of making sure our team, our clients, and our company are all taken care of.
One thing I’ve noticed is how easy it has become for people to criticize small businesses. Whether it’s questioning deposits, paying invoices late, leaving unfair reviews, or looking for reasons to tear someone down, it’s easy to forget there’s a real person on the other side of that business.
Policies like deposits aren’t there to inconvenience anyone—they help protect the small businesses that work hard every single day to show up, provide quality service, and keep their doors open. Paying on time, respecting those policies, and showing kindness may seem like small things, but they make a huge difference to businesses like ours.
Instead of looking for reasons to tear each other down, let’s choose to support one another. Shop local. Recommend businesses you love. Leave honest and kind reviews. Understand that behind every small business is someone giving it everything they have.
Most importantly, I want to say thank you to every single client who has trusted Two Moms & A Mop over the years. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or only had us clean your home once, you’ve played a part in our journey. Your referrals, your reviews, your encouragement, and your continued support have helped us grow into the company we are today.
We don’t take that for granted. We are incredibly grateful for every opportunity you’ve given us and every home you’ve trusted us to care for.
To our fellow small business owners—keep going. Your hard work matters, even when it feels like it goes unnoticed.
And to our clients, friends, and supporters: thank you for believing in us. We appreciate you more than words can express. ❤️
