Hey everybody I have been waiting a really long time to make this post! It seems like every customer I come across when I start giving them information or just baffled at how much there is to remember to do what is a simple floor job in their minds. A lot of the other people in my line of work are not explaining every detail to people and they're leaving valuable information out. If you look at the packages below 95% of the contractors out there that do coatings do that Top Choice the silver choice. They do it because it saves the money it's cheaper than the other products. Strength and durability is amazing just like all the others however there is no such thing as an epoxy or an MVB/ moisture v***r barrier that will not yellow in the Sun. Some companies mix products known as UV stabilizers into non-uv stable bases and although that helps that still does not guarantee that it will not yellow from the Sun. To rectify this they must fully flake their floor to where the floor can hold no more flakes but even then there is tiny pieces of the floor exposed throughout and over time with sunlight those pieces will turn yellow. You have a few people out there that do polyaspartic face and polyaspartic top. This will not yellow however there is no moisture barrier so it creates a completely different kind of risk.
As far as I'm aware nobody is doing the third option on this list which is combining the strengths of everything and creating a floor that has no weaknesses. The reason people aren't offering this is because there's no way to offer it
Without charging more. So basically when a customer has nine people come and try to sell them the same thing (silver plan)for around the same price and they all tell the customer that their product is great then usually the customer is not going to understand when another guy comes along and says those products aren't as great as they made them sound and would you really want the best thing out there is this and it's this much money. Customers would have to learn everything on this page to understand why that makes sense.
Due to that everybody is getting the silver package, thinking they're getting a virtually indestructible floor, and thinking that anybody comes in with a higher price is crazy. Well here's all the facts. If you're thinking of getting a floor I would suggest using this as a cheat sheet to question anybody that's coming to try to sell you one. If they give you information that's not on this sheet or they say that anything on this sheet is wrong you can Google it very easily and you can find out that it's 100% truth. Hope this helps!
