Ah, the carpet challenge--no worries, it can be dealt with. Here is a step-by-step method to get a p*e stain out while keeping your carpet safe. Act quickly; the sooner the better. Blot up as much as you can with a clean cloth or paper towel. Do not rub. Rubbing pushes it further into the fibers.
1) Mix 1 cup of white vinegar
2) Optional: add a tsp. of mild dish soap
3) Spray enough solution to saturate the stained area. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then blot with a clean cloth to absorb moisture.
4) Rinse using cold water and blot again.
5) Dry completely. Placing something heavy on top of the cloth helps absorb moisture.
