Moisture trapped under the caulk of your shower or bathtub is a health hazard and headache no homeowner should have to deal with. Here is a step-by-step guide to overcome the nightmare:

1. Remove the caulk
2. Examine the area to find the entry point of the mold/mildew.
3. Eliminate it with a cleaning solution. If it’s on the back of the tile or wall you’ll need to call in a specialist. In most cases, the only way to find this out is to remove the tile.
4. Reset the tile if removed and use grout sealer to prevent future moisture Intrusion through the grout.
5. Re-caulk
