Today as I was working out of town. Multiple loyal customers that we have had for many years, Reached out to inform me that another out of state pest control company is in Sioux Center going door-to-door trying to get business. Honestly it’s ok and doesn’t bother me. Until I find out that they are spewing lies about my company and dragging our name through the dirt. I’ve been in this industry for nearly 30 years. I know A LOT of people in NW Iowa! When you walk up to someone’s house with your shirt untucked, Shorts on and hat on backwards and start bashing the local guy that most people know. It doesn’t take long for those people to start messaging/ calling me.

Please be careful of the services they are trying to sell you! If you have questions or want price estimates on services we provide please reach out! Estimates are always free of charge. If we can’t do it over the phone we will set up a time to stop out and take a closer look.

What are they? I’ve got tiny black bugs all over! This has been reported to us multiple times every day for the last couple weeks. Answer: Springtails! Can we get rid of them? Yes and no. Spraying for them on the inside of a house is not a good idea. Sometimes it can make the population worse if we are treating for a different insect problem then we will try some different applications to remove the targeted pest. We can do outside treatments, which can reduce numbers, but with that being said best practices are dry dry dry, dry. Make sure towels, dirty clothes or anything damp is removed from the floor. This includes rugs,shoes, bags, anything that can trap moisture. And then turn on the fans and get the air moving to dry out the surfaces. If you’re running dehumidifiers make sure they are draining and are not sitting full of water. Also, make sure the kitchen sinks are empty. Don’t leave dishes, bowls or glasses full of water in the sink it’s just going to attract more. Important notice! Northwest Iowa residences, Some of the neighboring communities have posted on their page that there is a pest control company that has filled out the paperwork for a peddlers’s license. This is the same company that came through last year. Please be aware of what you’re signing up for. We have recently taken over a few of their accounts that got hooked last year. I was shocked to hear the prices that they are charging for the services provided. If you are interested in what services we provide please feel free to message or call, estimates are always free and we offer a wide range of different scheduled services. It never hurts to ask! Last year I had said individual ride up to my house on his Segway and after I let him give me his entire sales pitch. I introduced myself. He was very puzzled then informed me that he was just a college student hired for the summer to sell service packages. He had little to no experience in the pest control industry. Today with our pickup in the drive with our name on it they just rode right on past. Please be careful what you sign up for. And as always, thank you to all of our loyal local customers.
