Recently repaired this sewer line, this home was built between 1945-1972 when orangeburg pipe was commonly used. This was the last remaining section of orangeburg pipe they had and as you can see in the photo orangeburg will bubble and deteriorate inside the line causing sewer back ups, this customer was happy to back up in draining in no time with no concerns of future sewer issues.

We often times get asked what to try before having a professional come out and what to do to avoid clogs in the future. Below we have some tips and tricks to clear yours drains.
-A plunger! If your drains are clogged or slow we recommend trying a plunger. A plunger can help loosen up the blockage and let water drain by.
-Hardware store hand snakes, they can work great for abs pipes for sinks and tubs but for cast iron lines you’ll have a hard time working it through the pipe, we recommend cutting off the coil tips and bending a small question mark into the cable to help it work through the pipe and pull out the clog.
-Drain chemicals, we do not recommend any drain chemicals since they deteriorate your drain lines making them brittle and will eventually cause leaks with repeated use.
-Phone a friend, sometimes a clogged drain is to tough for even the best DIY-er. When that happens its time to call in the pros.

Some photos from an excavation we did last month in Portland, this customer had roto rooter out to unclog the line and was informed it needed repair, they called us and we came out same day, gave our price and got to work a few days later.
Once the trench was dug we found the utility company had broke the sewer while boring, we were able to work with the utility company to have their lines moved and got the sewer repaired.

Some before, during and after photos from our most recent sewer install, this customer had a quote to replace their sewer for $24,000 and they had saved up all the money to do so, luckily they gave us a call for second quote before starting and we were able to get the job done for $11,500. The customer was extremely satisfied during the whole process and now has some extra funds for a nice vacation. Recent sewer repair we did, this customers was having reoccurring clogs every few weeks until we showed up and inspected the pipe and determinded it was the original sewer to the home made of orangeburg pipe and was falling apart, orangeburg is a pipe made from wood pulp and adhesive that was installed thru the 70’s and only has a life span of 30 years before failures start to occur.
