May 1st is International Workers’ Day.
In the U.S., we celebrate Labor Day in September… but for many of us, today has always meant something deeper.
I grew up in Spain, and I remember going to demonstrations on May 1st when I was young.
Streets full of people. Energy. Voices demanding better.
That doesn’t leave you.
Fast forward to today running a cleaning company and I see both sides. But one thing is clear:
This industry runs on hard, physical work.
Work that doesn’t always get recognition, but keeps everything moving.
That’s the part we can’t ignore.
And that comes with responsibility on our side as business owners.
To be fair.
To be respectful.
To not forget where these standards came from.
Today is a reminder of the people who fought for better conditions and why that still matters.
