Here’s something you probably haven’t thought about today:

The average American produces roughly 4–5 pounds of trash every single day.

That’s more than 1,400 pounds per person over the course of a year.

Now multiply that by everyone living in your house.

Kind of makes you wonder where it all goes.

A lot has changed since 1972. We’re still right here.

From pumping septic tanks to delivering portable toilets, roll-off dumpsters and jobsite equipment, HEI has grown quite a bit over the years.

But some things haven’t changed. We’re still family-owned, still based in Silver City, and still proud to serve the communities we’ve called home for more than 50 years.

Whatever the job calls for, we’re just a phone call away.

10 yards? 20 yards? 40 yards?

If you’ve ever rented a roll-off dumpster, you know choosing the right size isn’t always as straightforward as it sounds.

Too small, and you’re out of room halfway through the job. Too big, and you’re paying for space you may not need.

We put together a guide breaking down all five of our dumpster sizes, what types of projects they’re typically used for, and a few things you should know before scheduling a rental.

Whether you’re cleaning out a property, remodeling a home or running a construction site, this one’s worth a read.

How often should you actually pump your septic tank?

For most homes, every 3–5 years is a general rule of thumb — but household size, tank size, water usage and a few other factors can make a big difference.

We put together a quick guide covering what affects your pumping schedule, warning signs to watch for and when it may be time to have your system serviced.
