Hello All,

I'm Justin and I'm Shawn's oldest son. Some of you may remember me from our service calls to your homes.

I'm very sad to announce that Dad passed away on March 21st 2023. He took a lot of joy in helping keep the home fires burning safely in NW-Arkansas for over 20 years. The times I spent with him on some of your rooftops are times I'll forever treasure. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you.

With Dad passing away unfortunately we won't be taking any appointments. The business is closed.

Another fireplace insert that we installed this week in Bella Vista Arkansas.

Inserts are the best thing you can do to a fireplace if you wanting real heat from your fireplace and efficiency.

With a regular fireplace all your heat goes up the chimney and you’ll go thru your firewood quickly.

A insert puts out great heat with its blower and reduces firewood use and also adds value to your home.

Got called out to do a chimney sweep in Jay Oklahoma this week and found this inside their chimney.

Someone put a round sleeve/liner down their chimney and didn’t seal it to the opening correctly leaving openings in the four corners of the top of the fireplace which smoke and creosote have been going up for years and building up in the interior of the chimney creating a fire hazard.

They told me they used another chimney sweep for years and that he never mentioned the problem in all the years he had been coming out to their home.

She said he retired this past year, and then added it’s probably a good thing!

So we will have to pull the sleeve clean the existing chimney, clean the outside as well as the inside of the sleeve then reinstall it back into chimney and seal the bottom so that smoke will not be able to get past the bottom of the flue into the interior of the chimney.

Today we pulled all the flue tiles out of this chimney because they were all cracked.

We’re going to be installing a 11” stainless steel liner down it.

It has a lifetime warranty on it, so this will be the last time this chimney will have to be tore down due to cracked tiles.

I’ve always felt that clay flue tiles were a inferior material to put in chimneys in the first place as they always crack causing homeowners costly repairs. Had they used stainless in the in the first place they wouldn’t have to go thru this.

As the final month of the year is upon us I just want to take a moment to thank all of our customers for letting us serve all their wood burning appliance needs.

Our customers are very special to us and are what makes me love doing what I do, because I get to meet some of the most wonderful people and visit with them.

So once again thanks!!

Starting today we are able to take credit and debit card payments.

Come January 1st 2022, we will no longer accept checks. We will only accept Cash or Credit cards for payment.

Also come January we will have a price increase on our chimney sweep services and dryer vent cleaning service.

We haven’t changed our prices in over 10 years.

We’ve always tried to hold our prices down and always tried to beat anyone else’s prices.

But unfortunately the cost of doing business is going up along with everything else and has put me in a position to where I must raise prices in order to be able to meet our obligations and stay in business.

I believe even with the price increase you will find we still will be cheaper than anyone else.

We will have a senior rate too. If over 65 you’ll be eligible for our senior rate.

We will still run our spring cleaning special during the months of April and May. During those months you’ll be able to save $20 on sweep.

So we’re excited about the upcoming year and look forward to serving all of Northwest Arkansas again.

Here’s wishing you and yours a early Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

Today I want to talk about fireplace inserts and why every fireplace should have one and why it’s important that they be installed correctly by direct connecting them to a stainless steel chimney liner.

Back in the 70’s-80’s during the energy crises people went out and bought inserts and took them home and shoved them into their fireplaces.

The problem with this is that because the stoves were air tight there wasn’t a lot of draft to move the smoke out of the chimney especially since many of these inserts were put into fireplaces with over sized flues.

This caused a rash of chimney fires due to a heavy buildup of creosote caused by the flue gasses cooling and condensing on the flue walls which caused a lot of homes to burn down when the creosote caught fire and caused a chimney fire.

So the National Fire Protection Agency said ok, all fireplace inserts should be direct connected to a stainless chimney liner from the top of the insert all the way to the top of the chimney.

So if you have a old insert in your fireplace and it’s not connected to a liner it’s not considered to be a safe installation and should be connected to a liner to bring it in compliance with the NFPA code.

We can in most cases install a liner in your existing chimney and direct connect it to your fireplace insert.

Inserts are the best thing for a fireplace because they dramatically cut down on the amount of wood you’ll use and provide great heat for your home.

We sell and install fireplace inserts when your ready to get serious about heating with wood or pellets.
