I just found out today that my friend Doug Helton suffered a massive heart attack while pheasant hunting in Kansas & passed away. We only knew each other on Facebook but we chatted a lot about fi****ms & hunting. He was a 4th generation gunsmith & was always extremely helpful & insightful. I will miss chatting with him, I shared a photo of one of the best tips he gave me.

The outdoor community lost a great ambassador. I hope his family finds some peace in the fact that he died doing what he loved, hunting with his dogs & friends.

This MSR came into the shop for a new handguard & gas block installation. By removing the A2 style gas block/front sight along with the shorter handguard allows for better forward hand placement & much better weapon attachment options with the upgraded parts

This ****ms BAR in came in for a broken spring. A full tear down revealed lots of carbon build up on the piston & corrosion throughout the entire gas system. It’s cleaned & ready to go now!

There’s nothing worse than when your firearm doesn’t perform like it should. This Browning BAR in 30-06 had its action spring break while sighting it in. A quick $8 spring installation & it’ll be back in action!!

I’m thinking of getting some branded apparel...starting with some hats. What color combo’s does everyone like? They will be SnapBack/trucker style with a black mesh back.

It truly is incredible how many parts this has & yet still met military standards for reliability. A good cleaning & this one is ready for the range again. $40 & you can get a deep cleaning like this on most semi auto fi****ms.
