Just a look at the final result of some of our Post Cleans. Sorry I don't have before pics but keep in mind these homes were post construction foreclosures.... full of dirt, dust and heavy grime. October is Natiional Breast Cancer awareness month. Although there are large organizations that work night and day to make each and every one of us aware of early detection steps we all must have a voice in order to beat and end breast cancer once and for all!

Tips till turkey day #5

Exterior window cleaning.... this is one of my all time favorites and has saved me tons of time!!

The words "I don't do windows" will be a thing of the past with this exterior window washing tip. All you need is a water hose and some dishwasher detergent. NOT dishwashing liquid but the detergent used in your dishwasher. Preferably liquid but the powder will work. Simply hose down your exterior windows, using a brush or even a sponge mop apply the dishwasher detergent to the windows making sure to scrub the dirt and grime built up on windows. Apply to all windows before rinsing. Once applied to all windows go back to first window and begin to rinse making sure all detergent is completely rinsed. Once you have rinsed all windows walk away - no need to wipe or dry.

Tips till turkey day #4.

I am a little behind! Between being sick and picking up some new clients I have managed to fall behind but don't worry there is still plenty of time to get your house in tip top shape for the holidays.

Tip number 4 is a one of my favorites. Anything using baking soda is almost always a win, win! Even if you are a cabinet wipe down fanatic like myself (I have white cabinets which must be wiped down daily) you will still find that they still seem to always look dull and dingy around the handles. Take a close look...especially at the cabinets which get opened and closed the most....yep, that is where the "gunk" seems to gather when you're not looking. The use of degreasers or cleansers does not seem to get rid of the dullness and coating left from your hands...no matter how much you wipe well here is a great tip......

This cabinet cleaner tip only requires 2 ingredients, and you probably already have them right in the cabinet that needs to be cleaned. Vegetable oil & baking soda.

Prepare mixture using:
1 part vegetable oil
2 parts baking soda

Mix together with a spoon and go crazy! You can simply use your fingers or a toothbrush... the best way to guarantee that the grains of baking soda are really getting into the surface. Would rather use a cloth or a sponge? No problem!!! Once you have really worked mixture into area wipe down with a cloth and water. You will be amazed at the difference.

Lamp Shades....I find the best way to clean them is with the soft brush on my vacuum. Every time I vacuum the rugs I vacuum the shades. Sometimes I don't want to get out the vacuum so here is a great trick. Keep your fabric lamp shades dust free by using an adhesive lint brush. Simply hold the shade in place and roll the lint brush on the exterior of the shade.

For those of you who have a garbage disposal in your sink you know they sometimes can get a little "stinky". To get rid of odors, drop in a cut-up lemon, some salt and a few ice cubes. The lemon deodorizes, and the ice and salt clean away residue. There are products that they sell buy why spend the money when you can use items you already have in your home!!
