Today's 2Bravo local spotlight is Cotton Valley Recreation.
Cotton Valley Recreation is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit that Cheryl and Derek Rowe started because they want to give back to the community that they are raising their family in. While they were both volunteering with SPAR and helping coach, they saw how many children in the area were participating in youth sports. With so many teams sharing the available fields, they saw an opportunity to help by bringing the Cotton Valley ball field back to life. Last November they approached the town of Cotton Valley and asked for permission to restore the field at no cost to the town. Their goal is to complete the restoration by next summer so children and families can once again make memories on the Cotton Valley ball field. Everything they’ve done has been made possible through volunteers, donations, sponsorships, and community fundraisers. None of it would be possible without people willing to give their time and support. If there’s any way you can help, it’s tax deductible. You can get in touch with them through their page at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61586626739214.... You can also email them at [email protected], or call Cheryl at 318-578-9608 and Derek at 318-205-0600. This is a huge step towards getting Cotton Valley back to the beautiful town it once was.
